Steve's List of Links

Hi, I am Steve Lee. This is where I am going to put my collection of what I think are interesting links (along with a description of these links).

NOTE: The links on this page are in catagories. These categories are not in any particular order (yet). I may get around to organizing them a little better in the future.

Stay tuned, because this list should change and expand over time!

    Game Theory Links

The following are links to homepages dealing with the mathematical/social science theory called "Game Theory." Twentieth century mathematicians -- including John von Neumann, John Nash, and, UCLA's own, Lloyd Shapley -- have contributed to the foundations and the growth of this field of study. I would recommend all of the sites below. I would especially recommend "The History of Game Theory" site and David Levine's Game Theory Page (it has a game solver if you plug in a set of payoffs).

  • The History of Game Theory
  • What is Game Theory (U. of Arizona)
  • David Levine's Game Theory and Economic Theory Page

    Chaos Theory Links

Chaos Theory is a relatively new and dynamic field encompassing everything from biology, physics, and chemistry (natural sciences) to economics and psychology (social sciences). Chaos Theory -- a field within mathematics -- basically involves nonlinear dynamical systems that produce results which are deterministic but, at the same time, is not predictable. I highly recommend "Chaos Theory Introduction" by Andrew Ho.

  • Chaos Theory Introduction
  • Chaosgruppe (German and English)

NEW! -- News from around the world!

These links are to web pages of various news organizations. All of them are FREE at the time of writing (some do require registration). Enjoy.

  • The New York Times
  • MSNBC
  • The Times (of London) -- UK's "Establishment" newspaper
  • The Electronic Telegraph -- Web edition of UK's Daily Telegraph
  • The Economist -- One of the finest news/business magazines in the world (also UK)
  • The Star -- South African newspaper

    Business and Industry Related Sites

Here are a listing of business and industry related sites. I highly recommend the Securities and Exchange Commission's "Edgar" Page. It probably has one of the most up-to-date and accurate listing of information about corporations. It includes balance sheets and other business related information that other web sites don't have. Best part, it's free!

  • Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC): includes Edgar Page
  • The Economist -- One of the finest news/business magazines in the world (also UK)

    Libraries

Here are a listing of web sites of libraries. I especially recommend the Library of Congress page. The LOC page has a lot of useful information (including rare books, copyright, and POW/MIA info).

  • Library of Congress
  • Glendale Public Library and Community College Library

    Glendale, California -- My Hometown!

I have spent most of my life in good old Glendale, California. Here are a listing of Glendale related web pages.

  • LNX's Glendale Homepage (a lot better than the one below)
  • Welcome to Glendale, CA!

Get Saved! -- find out about Jesus Christ

Find out more about our Lord Jesus Christ. Hey, I'm a Christian so it is pretty important to me. Okay, so I am not the best Christian in the world, but maybe you can do better than me. Go to the following links and find out more about eternal life!

  • Jews for Jesus
  • NetChurch: Campus Crusade for Christ Links

    Hacking related homepages

Here are a listing of hacking related homepages. I especially recommend the homepage of "Captain Crunch" -- aka John Draper. The Cap'n is history's most famous (or infamous) phone phreak/hacker. He lists some of his most exciting adventures on his homepage. Let us all take a moment to bask in the Cap'n's greatness. Nerds of the world unite!

You can also visit "The Woz" -- Steve Wozniak. The Woz is a hacker, the inventor of the Apple computer, and the creator of the Polish Dial-a-Joke line (don't worry, he is Polish).

You can read about these two guys in the book Hackers, by Steven Levy. Click here to find out more about that book.

  • Captain Crunch -- aka John Draper (hacker hero)
